The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 刻意为之的黑色喜剧，黑色效果和喜剧效果都很牵强。用心了，但缺乏才华。
三星半。可能多数人希望的结局，是在警察冲入房间，把小马堵个正着时结束吧，或许这种所谓的开放结局会更让人钟于打高分，不过喜欢HE的我，还是愿意为好人至少没有恶报的结尾，多打半星。
要是最后外卖员的戏份可以处理好就可谓升华了，但最后的最后还是邪不压正的一套，未免有些俗套了
儿童拐卖这种情节是能纯用来给主创们炫技的？
剧情、悬疑还是可以的。范老师的表演有点出戏。结尾，是硬加上去的吧。
52/100。这样的电影说好听点叫充满了情节的不确定性，说难听点就叫得意地刻意制造各种所谓“惊爆点”来试图达到让观众感到不可思议效果的劣质品。除掉交易内容被揭晓那一刻稍稍让人感到一丝震惊和真情流露，剩下的所谓反转则基本上都让人感到无语甚至尴尬，只有偶尔几个点能换来几声干巴巴的笑声。结尾处的“伟光正”虽然可以理解为是屈服于大背景下的无奈，但处理的未免也太粗糙了些，让人觉得前面那虽然外强中干但起码还能撑得住场面的“虎头”接上的是一条已经死了许久连光泽都不复存在的“蛇尾”。总而言之，本片真的肤浅而自以为是。
范伟台词一出口我还是觉得他在讲小品哈哈哈哈，但是影帝就是影帝，那表情神态拿捏的死死的，能给电影加不少分。故事也是个好故事，窦骁后期转变的张力不够，所以结局拉胯了点。
这种环形结构的电影，重在结构而不是反转，反转太多显得刻意，而且虎头蛇尾了
令人惊喜的悬疑犯罪电影，整体而言完成度不错，故事条理比较清晰，人物关系处理还算得当。三个美中不足的点：1人物动机交待得不够有完整，导致人物行事目的性不够强，没有足够的动力；2节奏有些拖沓，几条时间线的时间流速控制得不好，通过剪辑和换场营造误会和紧张感，细想会有漏洞；3整个故事没有完全内收，也就缺少了类似疯狂的石头一样的宿命感，这一类型的电影，巧合只是表面，人物在命运的玩弄中浮浮沉沉的选择才是点睛之笔和内核。
确实反转和悬疑，也拍得合格，演员们表现也不错。就是不够惊喜，黑色幽默有，只是不够好。巧合利用得好就是好，如何叠加产生剧情需要的冲突和设计，恰如其分表现出来，难哦。窦骁的小怂外卖员和最后的财欲焚心的黑道大佬似的，只能说明，这个男人只是平时怂，一旦有切口什么坏事都是做得出来。缺了一个给自己的借口而已。
非常好看的一个犯罪片，而且通过黑色幽默的包装，更是精彩。一个反转接着一个反转，没想到最后居然出现了这么多人，太不可思议了！虽然缺点也挺明显的，而且我也觉得给五颗星稍微有些多了，但还是想鼓励一下编剧，非常棒！给人留下深刻印象的片段，就是范伟强行伪装大佬，可以说是全片的高潮。
忘记标记了，不停反转我都忘了这片子讲的是啥。美国电影玩尽杀绝那种不停反转看多了真不新鲜
设定有趣，一层层打开包袱一点点抽丝剥茧还原真相的过程也蛮精彩，尤其是表面上和实际上的反转耐人寻味，小偷和女骗子也有坚守，搞笑二人组和怂包其实是利益熏心的恶人。不足之处是期待更搞笑一点，而且结局过于伟光正了。
一般，剧本的丰富程度撑不起主创人员的野心和想法。
摄影美术不错，就这剧情太单薄了，剪辑有点乱。
层层剥茧，但其实剧情还是不太行，看的人有点累。范伟老师不卖拐了之后真的好厉害啊！
有些反转太容易猜到了 比如谁会叫张颂文老头呢
这个外卖员一出来，我说这人好像窦骁，结果发现就是窦骁。
电影叙事的规则是：前15分钟内主要人物须全部登场。多线叙事发展至今都是这个规律《盗抢拐骗》《两杆大烟枪》《落水狗》《疯狂的石头》。剧本游戏的规则是：无论你什么时候进场。都可以设定角色给你，同时关联出线索。
看不懂豆瓣评分，是一部被低估的片子。故事过于巧合所以有点不适，除此之外，演员、剧情、故事、反转，我都很喜欢。尤其给范老师、窦骁点赞！
