The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 在我心目中，这部确实是第一。动画长片中，中国文化载体的顶峰。

豆瓣TOP250补标。少年记忆追忆（县太爷要金银珠宝一段有印象）。中国动画在魔幻尺度的一座高峰。不同于《魔方大厦》的现代风格，《天书奇谭》有着浓厚的民间智慧背景。2000年前后，在邻居宋健的家里，我曾翻阅过许多本小人书，嗜得的故事大同小异，对历史的阐述、对现实的期许，仿若一体。

在那个物质最匮乏的年代里，这些最可敬、可爱、才华横溢的动画艺术家们创作出了最杰出的文艺作品。也许当时的人们身体是空虚的，但他们的精神却绝不像今天我们这一代人一般饥饿。
《天书奇谭》改编自明代罗贯中、冯梦龙的长篇神魔小说《平妖传》中部分章节，保留了狐狸精的片段，把担子和尚改成小孩蛋生，并重新创作了剧本，很多情节可以在中国传统民间故事里找到。
纵观中国动画电影史，这部片子在当今仍不过时，它有着匠心的画面与人物设计，有趣且奇幻的故事内容，真正达到了中国动画电影追求的「奇、趣、美」。
