The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 可以算牌，可以控制赢到什么程度就离席，可以时时刻刻保持自己的行为准则，但摆脱不了曾经的梦魇，赢不了那个高喊USA的对手，救不了一心要复仇的孩子。从监狱开始，又回到监狱，到头来最适应的还是监狱生活。影片整体给人感觉是精致又晦涩的，克制又忧伤，结尾比较拉胯。每一个镜头里的Oscar Isaac都帅得不像话。
开头第一幕就猜到走向和结局，美好的肉体支撑着看下去哈哈哈，很适合这个疲惫的下午。
星星给配角们。这个故事也......是要用莫名奇妙的软色情这张牌？正常点，有什么不好呢？

剧情都能猜到，但是剧情进展很快，不拖沓，颜也对口，乐就行了！性张力不错👌🏻

2021威尼斯主竞赛入围+2021手册十佳第9位。剧作一流，台词精彩，旁白特别值得分析；视听上保罗施拉德强调数字感的方式是通过极为清晰的景深镜头实现的，这个景深的处理往前就接到比如《圣鹿之死》等作品；用2D化的VR镜头来呈现梦境和记忆也是第一次见到有人这么做！演员处理上特别布列松（旁白也很布列松哈哈哈），不过美国演员跟这套风格确实不搭……战争相关的PTSD居然还能翻出新花样，实在厉害，奥斯卡怎么着也得给个编剧提名吧！
