The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 《爱情神话》那么好笑，却意外也难过。
本来只想当部乏善可陈的社会派烂片儿看，好嘛结尾画风一转，媚俗公权力把全部重点放在歌颂伟大父爱，去刻画一个「除了心脏（主角追求的公平和正义）一切尽力满足」的同为人父市长，和一个知恩图报感恩戴德在殉道者墓前行注目礼的市长乖儿子，我真的大吃一斤狗屎。是哥谭市都不敢自称的民风淳朴。
感人…… 为什么被刷得这么低分？
有的孩纸是孩纸，有的孩纸不是普通的孩纸。我们一辈子老老实实做人，为什么赢的总是你们，我们一开始就输了。空盒里装着的是颗黑心，达马医生点头时看到的却是鲜活跳动的红色心脏，小虫，这颗心脏从你出生起就属于你了，我会陪着你成长成一个优秀的医生。悬疑大框架，内核是温情片，非常东方式的亲情羁绊，切中软肋，泪点低的带好纸巾。
故事不行，漏洞还多，这些编导就是喜欢省事和捷径。
没想到居然有一个可以自洽的、完整的整体故事，大结构是有了，但所有细节都做得稀烂并且彻底流俗，感觉这都不是导演可以掌控的了，编剧有很大锅，好像几个小傻孩儿，放暑假的一个下午攒出来的脑中剧场。能让任达华这样的戏骨去当个纯过场也够tm有才，这么能打的造型，完全没用的工具人；肖央演得很卖力，但就是不感动，太奇怪了；还有一众熟脸，看到他们都挺亲切的，毕竟现在看港片的机会不多，但就是各个无力，丝毫没戏。王力宏戏路确定，就演这种衣冠禽兽就好，亲爱的们，代餐来了。全场看得呵欠连天，我同左右男女一直唉声叹气，都在等任达华快点来参加映后。没想到片中又老又虚肿的华哥，真人又瘦又帅又年轻，值了值了。
死并不可怕，可怕的是，没有尝试过为自己的生命而奋斗。
剧版唐探的导演，再加上第一集的肖央，尽管人设剧情变了，但依然不错，值得一看。
祝韩国电影越来越好吧
相较原版，做了非常非常多快节奏、吸睛、讨巧的改编，无可厚非，但用力过猛，快来看这矛盾有多激烈，快来看这反转有多厉害，还不快来给我哭…口音乱七八糟的东南亚背景，又要假装这样的事情不会发生在我们的现实。把医保的民生话题绕道，变成了强权和阶级对立，看出来是在贴《误杀1》了。一顿操作，野心膨胀，但过分的迎合，落得的结局是，误杀了观众的审美。
PS 为了能更好表明立场、增强区分度，现在开始提高三星门槛，有时间的时候会追溯调整之前的标记（长津湖准备好我要来了搓手手～）。
从现在这个环境，还能绕个弯拍这种题材就值得给五星，至少他的现实意义还能甩战狼好几条街！
第一次看到陈雨锶，很适合前段的野心女类型。今年第二次看宋洋演华侨，然后快认不出张世了。暗黑唐人街，故意写得戏味浓郁；没有一个闲角的佳构剧本，又在无可奈何中加满亮光。最后用彩蛋彻底瓦解冰消掉这个层层掩映的重重黑幕。让人感叹：行吧，拍出来就是最大的意义。这么巧都是费心包装的中年人故事，浪漫和贫苦的两级，艺术家的自我加持，关于地域故事的想象。区别是《误杀2》好多人哭我还行，
法外狂徒一样的记者，半天就斯德哥尔摩综合征病发无一人逃跑的人质，真假枪开没开都看不出的无能警察，再加上一个纯送的反派市长，典型的幼稚病发的创作者为了满足自己对反强权的幻梦而瞎编的作品；更何况一方面要在个架空的外国华人区的背景上演，一方面为了捞钱又搞货不对板的续集标题党，属实是双重讽刺了
年度最烂骗钱大作，陈思诚只要到第二部就开始瞎搞，剪的一个完整镜头没有，剧情甚至找不到吐槽的开头。
属于可看的一类，有反转有鞭挞，但人物刻画缺乏真实情感的烘托，过于描述化。
打低分的人只会抠细节，说这里演技不好，那里道具不合理。 但是在现在这个很左的环境下，拐弯到泰国拍一个这样的题材的片子已经值得满分
拍的还行，剧本一般，为了自己看过的场景支持一下
“有的孩子是孩子，有的不是普通孩子”“为什么赢得总是你们”在泰国拍，说的是一样的事。
