The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 有意思的是这些不成气候的“革命者”一个两个还能上审判席，而马丁路德金和马克西姆这种却连审判席也上不了。说明美国政府更清楚那些是疥癣之痒那些是心腹大患。
有一些点如“酒吧的窗内是惬意奢靡的50年代，而窗外却是鲜血淋漓的60年代”这一幕着实引人深省。但表面看索金是在沉痛的批判，但他越沉痛就越说明他爱美国之深。
老索金了，这次亲自上阵执导筒，密集至满溢的台词剧本，交叉叙事，闪回，编排精致。然后在这个时间点上出这部左翼电影，含义不言自明。撕裂与冲突，平权、民权，借古喻今。

喬說那時他在芝加哥公車上遇見過William Kunstler，向他表達了敬意，就在七人案審判期間。比照如今…一言難盡。
Davis 本人对索金的人物塑造持保留意见 缺点或者说窠臼还是有不少的 但让我个人兴奋的 reference 也是不少(别再吹 Eric Clapton 了 Ginger Baker 比他好到不知那里去了) 结尾的煽动性和喊话够直接 —— The Whole World Is Watching 但同时也要看到：Of course, there are very decent police officers in every state but the systemic racism in the police department just can’t be denied. 好歹是本方队友加一分鼓励吧 希望索金还是意识一下自己太白了的缺点 这种白化简直是可怜了的骑墙感

就是喜欢这种调调的电影，老死头子法官太气人了，真想知道他的后续，想看他吃瘪
艾伦索金是属于能用剧本影响到影像风格的那种编剧，连着看《乔布斯》和这一部感受就会非常明显。我以前觉得他的剧本很适合用来学习写台词，尤其是台词上下句的对称和衔接，那种语感和节奏真的绝了，但英文和中文语感本身不太一样，行业大环境也不同，渐渐觉得不是很适用，大部分人做不到他那么精准，而且注意力放在台词设计上之后，戏会不自觉为台词服务，就本末倒置了。这部索金自己做导演，不功不过，但在对剧本的完成度上想必他自己应该是很满意的
历史上没有哪一次的所谓正义的群体维权事件不会上升为流血和暴力，只能概括为四个字：乌合之众。
