The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 故事继承自传统香港武侠片框架，节奏干脆力落，一人一刀，只为公道，捉刀人的身份背后就是孤胆侠士，动作设计结合了传统香港的兵器武打和日本武士片，暴力美学上的展现毫不含糊，打斗前后动静氛围的对比很到位，美术风格和配乐也有亮点，只要是再在瞎眼设定下下再多一些打斗设计会更完整。（7.5/10）

火龙斩帅，雪景漫画，不搞爱，不废话，一双错骨手，一把听风刀，一招楼兰斩，一颗侠义心，一个快意恩仇替人复仇的故事，有人为了江湖之义，可将一生轻掷之。这片儿是可以花钱的那种。
摄影好过一水的网大，当然也还是网大的开局三分钟高潮。中国网大的通病在这部作品里依然存在:剧本台词极差，台词废话太多，导演对整体故事叙事没有把握度。魏君子制片也起不到什么作业。中国影视难道要和中国足球一样，被打回原形了?。。。
剧情刚开始我认为就那样,真的就是没报啥期待的去看,结果,打脸来的措不及防,剧情真的很OK,联接的很好,而且真的不算那种老套的,真的挺不错的
现在中国内娱这个空中粪坑，任何不屎的作品都值得五星。我欠这片子六块钱。
谢苗的功夫还是有底子的，虽然有点故作深沉，甚至有点摆pose的嫌疑，但是总体还是一板一眼。离别钩、听声辩位……还是很有武侠风。“十步杀一人，千里不留行”，很酷，很飒，江湖跃然眼前，今日酒一壶，惯看刀光剑影，只为世间道义，哪管王权富贵，帅！

潮汕人看了应该会很有感触 说的话也是潮汕人最最亲切的 虽然是脏话
“用你酿的酒洗你的血海深仇”，不是很复杂的故事，但拍得很精细，剧本、节奏、运镜、取景都看得出功夫。3.5星片。
7分。好久没看到这么爽利的武侠电影了。简简单单的一个快意恩仇的故事，瞎子捉刀人为被灭门的酿酒女报仇。时长只有74分钟，剧情一点圈子也不绕，前因、经过、结果，完事。动作设计还算不错，打斗场面干净过瘾，雪中复仇那段挺美。捉刀人功夫太高，最后通过暗箭伤人给捉刀人带来一点点难度。不同兵器的对抗是花了心思的，肉搏的设计看得有点疼。推荐一看。男主谢苗是跟李连杰演《新少林五祖》那个童星，现在挺帅。
这不就是演的唐山事件吗？只是所有网友演的那个心不瞎的瞎子
三星支持一下，打斗场面还是挺好看的，不过这故事大约等于没故事……
这样的故事在中国很多吧
用短短74分钟，来讲述一名剑客行侠仗义的心路，作为网大电影可圈可点。故事线清晰，没那么多累赘的细枝末节，演员表演的真诚和认真度还蛮感动人的。尤其是谢苗演的成瞎子，放到武侠连续剧里也会是令人印象深刻的角色。另外电影的场面做得很好，尤其是武打戏部分的打斗场面，以及几个大场景的武打戏的调度，很有大片范儿。这部电影可算作国产网大在武侠片里的一次很好的探索了。
“我昨天也想了这个问题。” 我：“真的吗？“，而心里的答案是“我也想”。
好久不见的这样快意恩仇的武侠！网大能拍出这样的质感也属实难得！除了特效有些浮夸，整体框架是类似伸冤人和疾速系列一样的复仇动作片。至于为何杀人作恶时瞎子没察觉到，就只能理解为醉酒睡过去了……毕竟细追究约翰威克那么猛还不是被几个小流氓打趴下当面把狗杀了……

超级有共鸣的片子，身边人身边事，朴素真实的情感。全片几乎没有高潮，但是完全无尿点。看得我时而嘴角上扬，时而泪眼朦胧。----忘了说，我不是潮汕人
谢苗同学在网大耕耘数年，真杀出一条血路。如今左李红旗，右成瞎子。一古一今，除暴安良，行侠仗义，足以立身。
