The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 全靠小说撑着。前半部分不错，能看出一个社会风貌。后半部分越拍越垮，似乎没有处理关系的能力了。保皇党和自由派，传媒和政治，人情和欲望一股脑堆。。。旁白是合格水平。服化道不错。

3.5分，敘述很平淡，但故事的本身很“巴黎”，很現實殘酷，出身低的外省人，想靠才華與打扮跟貴族平起平坐，簡直是自掘墳墓。巴爾扎克把巴黎人的勢利寫到骨子裡
改编比较大，对19世纪20年代巴黎各阶层社会氛围的还原是亮点，还算值得一看吧。
他是下河洗干净呢，还是投水幻灭？很喜欢巴黎鳞次栉比的小剧场。
好多熟面孔，包括été 85的男主。故事没有太多新意，但相关的历史背景还是蛮有意思的。

男主从无名到兴盛再到没落，拍得还可以，但故事本身并不怎么吸引人～
拍出了巴黎浮世绘般的的光鲜和繁华，但是在叙事上却显得过于繁杂，以至于让整个故事显得过于冗长，好在精炼的旁白多少弥补了这种观感，当然这并不是编剧的功劳，因为旁白是巴尔扎克的手笔
