The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 抱着9.0评分的高期待点开了这部号称历年最佳剧场版，可实际却是远远低于期待值，如果说这一部已经能代表最佳水准，那以前的高分剧场版真的不看也罢，从画面表现到剧情都没有电影的感觉，最后为了友情和青春的长跑，确实很能感染人，但也仅仅是运动的艰苦努力带出的励志感，只是基本加成
这部算得上是近几年最佳了…青春是什么呢？青春是无意义的有意义，就算后悔也没什么。真的好喜欢这部，可以和过去的一部分自己和解

“无论是怎样的青春，都希望他们可以笑着回忆”近几年剧场版巅峰（虽然上部才这么说过）蜡笔小新这个IP比同时代的动画电影IP强多了（指哆啦a梦和柯南）每年都在原有风格上创新 脑洞还是这么大 又搞笑又感人 还融入了悬疑推理元素 甚至比柯南剧场版还好 讨论的现实话题还挺多 ai取代教师职业 精英制度 阶级矛盾 内卷式教育… 后半段的马拉松太热血了 精英什么的 哪里有快乐好啊 真的不想跟好朋友分道扬镳啊
已经乏善可陈，都是将以前的老段子放在一起，这个IP已经失去了注入新的欢乐的能力。
本片在近年来的蜡笔小新剧场版里属于让观众眼前一亮的存在，在“精英教育能否孕育出人才”这一困扰东亚各国的老生常谈的问题上给出了自己的解答，也通过小孩子们的视角给了青春一个诠释：青春可以是放浪形骸、可以是忧郁孤独、可以是两小无猜、可以是笔耕不辍；青春绚丽多彩，青春总有遗憾，青春是你我一辈子最重要的回忆。
看过的小新剧场版中最内容丰满最结构复杂最用心的一部了，理念和情怀也是满分，爆发了呀

缺少了台词的幽默，没什么意思，5分钟弃剧。
青春就是，在那个懵懂、冲动、荷尔蒙过剩的年纪里，因为各种各样的缘由，做出的那些几十年后令人会心一笑的事。
