The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 东木老爷子还这么敬业，虽然剧情上有些跳跃吧，后面女主虽然是墨西哥的，但是作为寡妇那么多年，也太主动了点吧。。。
还以为东木这次仍然会为侠气牺牲 没想到只是温馨的小品
基本上是轻喜剧版的骡子，东木大爷拍这部已经完全是一种老小孩的状态了，轻松诙谐，拍电影这件事对于已经90多岁的人来说已经是一个传奇了，老牛仔风姿仍存.
九十而随心所欲，拍电影终于不再是为了拍电影。
影片最后东木关于硬汉的解说也许是对自己的总结吧。

看了三分之一……墨西哥小演员实在是太一般，伊斯特伍德要配合他，本来91岁高龄都有点演不动了……两人几乎是尬演……台词生硬。故事线ok，但各方面都不足，甚至略显业余。伊导是91岁的老头了😭可怕他摔倒了…

情节偏简单，小男主演技也青涩，老爷子精神矍铄
看得出来东木老爷是真的老了 表演有点力不从心的感觉 但 还能看到老爷子在演戏 那就足够了 不是么
确实不算好。“you are a real cowboy”,这种台词说给谁，都觉得耻度很大，除了90+的伊斯特伍德。&耄耋之年的公路恋爱，依然说服力Max（《牡丹花下》翻拍换成科林法瑞尔，极大影响了剧情信度）。总之看见他就高兴，五星吧。
老爷子的内心很柔软，所以一切的呈现都是偏温柔的童话的美好的，视觉上倒让那只活力的公鸡抢足了戏。
影片三星，致敬老东木两星。很有些《完美的世界》和《老爷车》的影子，却更加平淡，但也更加乏善可陈。影片多少体现了耄耋之年的老东木的心境，刻意地回避和淡化了许多冲突。也祝愿东木长命百岁

因为是东木才能为这片子赋予更多的韵味，那些台词从这个百岁老人口中缓慢模糊的说出来的时候，有强大的治愈和力量。
最后他幸福地生活下去
比《老爷车》稍微缺了一点点，但比《Mule》要好很多。
