The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 整个形式都很喜欢，复古的氛围中嵌套着复古的情色片拍摄，衰老一代的压抑爆发和小碧池的反杀，可解读和玩味的点很多也很有趣，很多拍摄镜头复古且充满对经典恐怖片的致敬，A24又一部充满个性小而美的电影。
复古风格好评，虐杀桥段干脆利索，剪辑花了心思，血浆喷出一点点变红的镜头也很巧妙。关爱老年人性生活，也请关爱没有性生活却每天fucked by government的年轻人。。
岛村就像去探案的🤣场景切换节奏还不错，开头半小时的駒子乖巧得想打一分，后面拉回不少。大概是山猪吃不了细糠，雪国哪个版本的感情线都无法理解，駒子辛い什么？叶子も辛そう、なんで？この2人はどの関係なの？なぜ島村は駒子にはまってるの？🥹书里还能看看细如毛的描写，而剧就全靠读“摘抄”了。（反复出现隧道的样子是想表现岛村shock到心灵受震撼？上次类似的情节是海女了

叶子的戏份太少了，开篇火车上那段黑黢黢的没拍好。
就是说，编写义务教育的人可能并没有读过原著…否则不会把这种名著变成「知识点」
半部黄片，半部虐杀片，实际上看完才发现是喜剧片，事实证明，烂番茄评分的高低基本没有什么参考度，导演想拍三部曲，第二部《Pearl》是前传，如果三部曲是一个循环轮回的闭环的话还算有点新意
还可以，关键主演颜值加分了。剧情可以压缩一下，更加紧凑
不断出戏 岛村的现代感扮相是异世界落魄杀手吗……
行男 行男 行男
哎，我是真不喜欢苦情戏。不过话说回来，就算大家都这么矫情，把想说的话都通通憋在心里不说，大部分的时候剧情还蛮抓人的。主要是主角演技好，这个叫奈绪的女演员有点厉害啊。这戏看到最后，总觉得缺了点什么，然后深深叹了一口气，舒服了，圆满了。哎。。。以前记得也出现过这样的情况，是看<半生缘>的时候。爱情就是这么做作。苦心经营，敌不过命数啊。
出奇地还不错，看了原版书倒也没什么原版偏见
以为在看太宰治的某段史，女主角应该换葵或者哭起来就让人怜香惜玉，奈绪一哭总以为真是干了啥坏事。导演和脚本太赶活省事了！
很显然，川端先生的作品，也是不能影视化的，但因为演员都是我喜欢的演员，美术和服装也挺喜欢，于是，穿过长长的隧道，便是雪国……

奈绪确实很美。最后也很炙热。但是总感觉不是那么好
雪国的景是真的漂亮 爱的人 和爱他的人都走了 女主也没必要留着了 离开纯白的地方 她走向了黑暗
不能跟原著的纯洁粲然比，但已经算还原得不错的了。“驹子令我虔诚匍匐，又被悔恨的洪流裹挟”。这一切都是多么地徒劳啊。
益生菌的声音太好听了，文艺片色调和音乐都很隽永，浮躁的话一定看不下去的
