The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 主要讲了Tony上一代的家族史，如果没有看过原剧肯定是不到两星。
似乎解答了到底是谁杀了Uncle Dickie这个问题，大概率是Jr，但是其实谁杀了他又重要吗？假如jr没有杀他，黑人黑帮也会去杀他，和Tony最后的结局似乎一样具有了讽刺的色彩，人在做天在看，最后报应依然会找到头上。
7.5/10.
就像吹得牛逼的不行的黑帮老大，其实也就是个流氓小头目，一共就那么几个手下，别说朝阳区了，放浦东新区也分分钟被灭了。
既没有惊险刺激的灾难逃亡戏，也没有极具心灵冲击的情感戏，这部让人昏昏欲睡的电影太不值得让娜奥美·沃茨作出牺牲。一星。

经不起推敲 不太行 不建议看 感觉就是浪费时间
3万假钞是主线，渣女应该被杀了，她的女儿送到孤儿院，3千万也乱给了孤儿院……
还挺有趣的故事，悬疑范儿挺足的，看的挺有意思，不过最后结局拉胯了，看到最后也没搞清楚，那三张假钞到底是干什么用的，为什么这么值得大哥费劲，酒吧老板的出轨老婆的前夫到底为什么而死。
浪费了人生的90分钟 原来是为了真人真事改编 不然这么无聊的剧本不知道谁写的 说是女主通过救赎男主自我救赎 完全没感受到 就看到俩人怎么挣扎求生了 雪地的场景很多都重复利用的 总之不要看
作为一部电视连续剧的前传，要在短短的一部电影中，既要讲述自己的故事，
节奏不错，故事后面奇迹发生是主角自己的幻想，感觉男主也是渣男！

第二次看，还是没能看完，因为老婆不喜欢，我也觉得似乎没那么让人愿意花2个小时去看
絮絮叨叨的不明所以，充着老剧来的，可惜太失望

作为一部电视连续剧的前传，要在短短的一部电影中，既要讲述自己的故事，还得考虑到与电视剧情节的连接，同时导演又有些心大，要紧扣当时的时代背景，自然难度是很大的。此片前面拍得很散乱，缺乏连贯的情节，只是不同场景的拼图，不停地引入人物。同时又采取了多视角的叙述方式，整体上没有兴奋点。后面半部则好得多，故事开始流畅起来，也有了一个个高潮。
