The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 三星半，多年后重启真凶的动机真的很牵强，但是看到一众回归的熟面孔还是感慨这个系列不知不觉也已经有16年了，还有就是大卫和柯特妮这对曾经的明星夫妇像剧中人物一样离婚后再聚也令人唏嘘。
凶手和过去毫无关系，甚至和男女主都没有实质性联系，真的很失败。老一代的三主演都没什么戏份。我们要看的是老一代。

娱乐性十足的系列“sequel”，大胆的调侃恐怖片套路以及对系列电影进行解构，电影很好看，但回归电影本身则很糟。

比新版的德州电锯认真，感觉还是做了挺准备的。在系列恐怖片里水平下降也不算很突然的，虽然吸引力已远不如初期。
导演很努力的想证明自己是个超级影迷，只是可惜了这部四不像的片子
