The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 一开始以为是部311题材的悼亡片，但在堇的视角加入之后，看出了一点《横道世之介》的感觉。就像真奈问的那样，堇究竟是个什么样的人呢？她的头发越剪越短，她的内心离我们越来越远，即使没有海啸，她这台收音机是否也会对不上这个同一化社会的频道呢？电影由此更进一步，越来越无法做自己的堇形成一种对社会的批判。看得出来导演不太喜欢冲突比较强的场景，一直旁敲侧击地去表现情感，但有时候他反而不会做减法，所以影片显得冗长。
剧情的构思很奇特，人工智能的反讽挺黑色，法国电影的幽默，也非常诡异精妙——但是合在一起，电影就拧巴的不能行。
看到最后一分钟明白了，还是311大地震。放不下忘不掉。

对一把年纪的让-皮埃尔热内来说，拍出如此前卫的科技电影，属实不易！略带几分惯用的幽默，增添了一些情趣。

真实历史事件改编，这种事情在哪个国家都发生过，可惜电影节奏太慢内容也没有理顺，让人抓不住重点难以共情。
