The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 好猛。卡士猛、讽刺猛。不了解美國政治、經濟、娛樂、社會，看不太懂吧？
这么多著名电影演员的电影肯定要看啦！而且也是很好看很好看！
对美国的体制现状挖苦了遍。话说大表姐好久不见了。
必须给5星，①saber的三个故事演的都非常好，②剑锋的新形态和海报太帅了。

主要还是文戏好，就是打斗太少了，主角三人都在塑造得很好，近几年来的外传最好的一个
人类与巨魔的故事就这样完结了，巨魔母亲躺在城下的设定出乎意料，生动展现了“棺材板压不住”……真应该配音引进给小孩看啊
星光熠熠，不好不坏。能让末日降临的电影我都打不出低分。
脑子里已经在循环深爱四重奏了。这个片尾太好听了太好听了。
这他妈是我看过的今年最好的电影，它应该拿明年的奥斯卡。
最终我还是愿意给这部电影五颗星。

还挺娱乐的…… 演唱会挺好…… 饭桌有点触动，包括祷告…… 最后的最后的最后很意味不明……
还是太短了 很多地方觉得太生草了 可能会后期回看一遍再改评分
看的时候就感觉好像不是一个独立的电影，看完了才知道原来是剧集的剧场版，不过也不太影响对电影的理解了，但是看到最后还是觉得人类太自私了，包括这个结尾，因为这里本来就是巨魔的领地，人类后来来到这里组建了城市并开始扩张，不但占了人家的地盘，还把人家的孩子往外赶，把人家的妈妈直接困在城市下面了，囚禁在下面了基本上是，最后的结局居然是就这么困着了，一年开放一次探亲日还觉得自己很伟大，人类就应该搬走，把人家妈妈放出来，放出来你们再回来重建家园都可以，太自私了。
很多人不喜欢的原因，未必是它裹着喜剧的皮儿，骨子里是一出彻头彻尾的大闹剧大悲剧，而是在这出剧里看见了自己。以及，我感受到了编导演那种叶已气急败坏了的悲怆和绝望
这部作品虽然说没有多少打戏，但是情感到很到位，所有人都是为了爱而驱使行动，只是各自的"爱"不一样而已，最后就像片尾一样点题，不是深罪的三重奏，是深爱的四重奏（个人理解）
哈哈哈哈哈哈哈把一切可以痛斥的都辱荒誕的罵了一遍，用一種荒誕的方式去表明這個世界的荒誕本身就是極為荒誕的荒謬行徑，雖然尷尬也比驢得水強一些。
