电影拍摄得非常唯美，即使是在最悲惨的境遇下，画面依旧是美的。但是从剧情上来说，立意略显单薄，淘金热这一时代背景有很多可以刻画的内容，却被粗粗带过。

富有清教徒色彩的爱情电影，男主唯一的主动思想就是一见钟情，后续所有的事情都遵从他的“主”，主命令她救女孩就救，主告诉他女孩有自我意识就放跑。整部电影的节奏，剪辑，过度都略显生硬，劝妓从良的故事披上成长和蜕变的外衣，也是一个旧调重弹的老话题了，没拍出多少新意。加一星给女主颜值了
