现在中世纪故事也能够看得津津有味，实在得益于《骑砍》《巫师》《十字军之王》。影片故事脱胎于中世纪诗歌，没有完全按照原诗编排，特别是对于骑士精神五要素，在解构的同时，也使得人物选择更偏向当代化。一段自我成长的冒险，目标可能不再是成为骑士，反倒弥漫着一种更加当代性的虚荣、颓丧、自毁、避世。全片的声音表达值得细究。
